Things to Do With Kids in Kilkenny

We have put a folder in each of our self catering cottages which includes pages and pages of things to see and do while you are on holiday in Kilkenny.

Included in this information is a list of activities which are aimed at kids. We know it's important to keep the little ones amused while you are away and we are sure that there are enough activities included here to keep even the most demanding kids happy!

1. Climb to the top of the tower at Aghaviller, just down the road from Croan Cottages J
2. Take the kids to The Watershed in Kilkenny city for a swim or SplashWorld in Waterford.
3. Visit Kells Priory and explore the old Monastic ruins and Castles! J
4. Visit some of the Beaches J and amusements near Tramore.
5. Visit the Reptile Village, Gowran, Co. Kilkenny.
6. Playgrounds are scattered throughout the county. Among the best are Castlecomer (large), Thomastown and Kilkenny Castle. J
7. Fishing in Castlecomer lakes, rods are available to hire at the lake.
8. Explore the Dunbrody Famine Ship and hear what life was like for those who emigrated from Ireland in the 19th century.
9. Try your hand at Karting at Kiltorcan.
10. Go Canoeing with ‘Go With The Flow Adventures’ on the Barrow.
11. Spend some time Pony Trekking at a variety of venues in Kilkenny.

15. Take a trip on the Waterford and Suir Valley Railway - this is a real favourite of ours. Kids love the narrow gauge railway and the scenery along the track is beautiful.

17. Visit the Animals in Nore Valley Park, open farm.
18. Soft Play centre in McDonagh Junction, shopping centre (suitable for small kids). J
19. Visit KBowl for Ten Pin Bowling, located at McDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, ph. 057 7788200. Also available at KBowl is KZone, which has the latest Pool Tables, Air Hockey, FX Simulator, Video Games.
